Struggling to pay the bills and telling my children that we can’ afford to go on vacations or to a movie or out to eat at a nice restaurant, or buy a much needed new car for my wife is the life I have chosen. You say what? You chose this life. Not knowingly I have chosen this but I didn’t realize this for quite some time but we do choose the life we lead. In fact it took me twenty years of running my own construction business to find this out. Maybe I was a slow learner. Actually it wasn’t until the real estate bubble burst and the housing market folded up that I was forced to find a new path. With no income a house payment and a family to feed it is amazing how ones thinking can be altered.
I would like to say most of us never need to make a change until catastrophe strikes but I don’t know this for certain I can just explain what it took for me to make a much needed change. The market collapse was my wake up call.
I made a decent living according to most standards but there always seemed to be just enough money to cover the bills. This is what it was like for me when times were good. I often found myself awake at nights wandering, is this all there is, what about college for the kids, retirement and the list grew and bounced around in my thoughts until I was totally exhausted. Have you had sleepless nights like these?
Never having to worry about money became my cause of action. The course was uncertain but the cause was going to be my navigation. A radical life changing journey was just beginning for me and propelled me into the unknown.
Relentless I was going to be in pursuing my cause it would test my very being. The course, who cares, it would be filled with setbacks, all small compared to my dream, that would all but be forgotten when my cause was complete. Then I started wandering would my cause ever be complete. Once the mind is expanded and the realization of what’s possible becomes reality and a mind once expanded can never go back to it’s original state, my answer is no.

Good stuff and keep on blogging!! ! I never really understood the hype behind blogging until I started almost a year ago. Since then it has served as a great self help tool for me and now for many others. Since I started, my life has done an almost complete 180 as I was in a situation in life where many would just give up and settle or turn to drugs/substance abuse.
